Can Massage Therapy Benefit Me?

Secretaries, laborers, waitresses -- anyone can feel a need for a massage at some point in time. The older population, as well, will benefit from massage, as it enhances flexibility and circulation.

Swedish (European) Massage:
The most common form of massage, Swedish mainly relaxes the muscles and eases aches and pains.
Fees: 30 mins - $35; 60 mins - $65; 90 mins - $95
Reflexology:
Applies pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body. This is also great for those who cannot receive a full body massage due to medical complications.
Fees: 30 mins - $35; 60 mins - $65
Hot Stone:
Warm stones encourage the exchange of blood and lymph and provide soothing heat for deep-tissue work. Stones are placed in varying positions on the body and are used by the therapist for specific trigger-point work.
Fees: 90 mins - $95
Amma Massage:
Chinese acupressure massage that balances energy in the body. No oils are used and this can be applied over the client's clothing.

Will my insurance cover massage services?
If you are in a car accident or have a job-related injury covered by workers' compensation, insurance may cover massage therapies when prescribed by a physician. If your insurance covers chiropractic or osteopathic services, the services of a massage therapist may be covered when prescribed by a chiropractor or osteopath. Therapies provided as part of the prescribed treatment by a physician or registered physical therapist are often covered. The best thing to do is check with your insurance company to see what is covered under what circumstances.
No fault and workers' compensation insurance is accepted.
